I have put together a web site for Ascension. It is neither complex nor amazing. I make no claims to be a web designer of any caliber whatsoever *lol* , but for the time being, it will have to do. Contest entries will be showcased there as well as character profiles, news, announcements and other such wonderful stuff.

Cosmic Crisis Artist Search

I am currently in the process of writing a book and would like to have a nice collection of artwork to go along with the story. As it stands, I am hoping to self-publish as well as create a web site for the series. The intention of this contest is to find a serious, talented, and reliable artist who would be interested in working out an agreement to do all of the official artwork for the series.

The contract would state that I would have exclusive rights to use of the work done for the series in exchange for the agreed compensation plus a percentage of any profits from books and merchandise sold. Full credit for all work would go to the artist, plus the artist would be free to showcase their other work on the website if they choose.(via their own page on the site) I will provide detailed descriptions and reference pictures for the five main characters from the first book. Each description contains an example of an outfit the character would wear, but it is not necessary to use that specific outfit. Entries should be in color and portray one or more characters from the list. Backgrounds can be as simple or complex as you choose. Future pictures would require characters, backgrounds, and assorted strange creatures that the main characters fight.

Reference pictures for the hair styles can be found in this Phobucket album. Please note that I did not make these pictures. I found them on Photobucket and am only using them to reference the hair styles required for my characters. They are NOT mine.

Character Descriptions:

Kyira: 17 5'2, 101. (skin tone: pale, build: slight, distinguishing marks: on the front of her left shoulder there's a twelve-pointed star tattoo, just an outline in black) Kyira has really deep purple hair that's styled like the picture. She has lighter purple/violet eyes. Her usual attire would likely consist of something like this: a black and purple plaid skirt, a black tank top, thin purple neck tie, arm warmers(or gloves), knee high boots, and her oversized black trench coat, sparkly jewelry(rhinestone collar)

She has a darker-type nature and some deep-seated trust issues. Chris and Justin are her closest friends, and she has a tendency to show more regard for them than the world at large. Chris and Justin are her best friends, and she gets along alright with Kelli and Nick. Overall though, her relationships tend to be tumultuous.

Chris: 19 6'0, 165lb. (skin tone: deep tan, build: medium, some muscle, distinguishing marks: none)His hair is black with red tips, spiky-ish like the picture. He has deep emerald eyes. He wears a spiked collar and dog tags. Sample clothes: black shirt, black duster, black combat boots, baggy black pants with silver chains

He's generally a nice guy who loves to flirt with the girls, but when it comes to fighting, he's extremely intense. He has a fetish for explosions which drives Kyira crazy. He's good friends with pretty much everyone and tends to flirt with Kelli a lot. He treats Kyira like a younger sister, always trying to look out for her in his own way.

Justin: 17 5'11, 163. (skin tone: tan, build: lean, wiry, distinguishing marks: an inch wide scar on his inner right forearm that runs from wrist to elbow) Again the hair style in this picture is perfect for him(long ponytail, long bangs), but his hair is black with a blue cast and his eyes are a deep dark red. He has a very young looking face. An example of Justin's clothes: black ripped-up jeans, black tee shirt that says Caution: Does Not Play Well With Others., black high tops, a woodland camo jacket, around his neck is a silver bead necklace with a dagger charm

He looks innocent, but he's been looking for trouble since he was old enough to walk. He ran away from home at sixteen and bounces back and forth between Chris and Kyira's house. He doesn't talk about his past. He's good friends with Chris and Kyira, hates Nick, and has some strange connection to Kelli.

Nick: 17 5'8, 139.(skin tone: light, build: thin, distinguishing marks: a faint scar on the left side of his forehead, usually covered by his hair) His hair is like the picture, but it is pale blue. He has clear green eyes and wears glasses with thin silver frames. An example of a typical outfit for him would be as follows: a deep blue, button-down shirt over black jeans and a charcoal grey jacket that falls just short of his knees

He's brilliant, very calm and collected except for the most extreme situations. He tends to be somewhat stand-offish but is friendly with Kyira and Chris. He and Justin have hated one another since they met, but he's basically polite to Kelli. Everyone in the group is aware that there is something different about him. They just don't know what.

Kelli: 19 5'9, 130. (skin tone: tan, build: slender, distinguishing marks: none) Her hair is black, styled like the picture but often held back on either side with clips(no bow). She has silver eyes. Usual attire? Boot-cut jeans, boots, cute tops in blues or yellow. Delicate, expensive jewelry

She's a quiet, sweet girl who has a connection to Justin's past. She's reluctant about the whole Acolyte thing at first but ends up sort of pushed into it. It should be noted that she is quite a force to be reckoned with when angered. She gets along well with everyone, and is even understanding when Kyira has temper tantrums.
